Some life forms present themselves as vulnerable and precariously placed in difficult circumstances. Nature often displays life on the edge, overcoming threat of annihilation. It is this sense that I try to capture in my photographic images. These photos are taken from the mountains and deserts of Southern California. Some of the views no longer exist, as the great Cedar Fire of 2003 swept them away. Some are very much available to all those who take the time to look.
I use both digital and traditional film cameras. Adobe Photoshop Elements was used in cropping, and adjustment of the saturation, contrast, brightness, and hue. In all cases, I attempt to keep the photo images true to the original experience of the scene.
